30th Anniversary Gala: Chef of the Year – Valkoinen Sali, October 25
Join us in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Chef of the Year competition at the elegant Valkoinen Sali in Helsinki on October 25, 2025!
Chef of the Year and Waiter/Waitress of the Year are among Finland’s most prestigious professional competitions in the restaurant industry. Over the years, they’ve helped shape Finnish food culture and launched the careers of many top talents. Our founder and creative director, Pekka Terävä, was the very first Chef of the Year in 1995, and Olo Creative Catering’s Lari Helenius took the title in 2020.
Nearly all past winners from the last 30 years will be joining us at Valkoinen Sali, alongside a number of Waiter/Waitress of the Year titleholders — including the 2025 champions, who will be crowned just the day before, on October 24. This year, three chefs from the Olo Collection are competing in the final: Piero Silvani from Bistro Ego, Miika Keskitalo from Scolare, and Ville Neulanen from Emo.
The celebration begins at 5:45 PM, with sparkling wine served in the salon. From there, the evening continues in the grand hall with a six-course Foodstation-style dinner. Along with fantastic food and great company, you’ll enjoy live interviews with past winners, music, awards, and speeches throughout the evening. The gala will be hosted by Anni Ihamäki.
Dinner tickets include a six-course menu with paired drinks — €150 per person.

Christmas is coming – and with it our long-awaited Christmas lunches, which are available in all our restaurants from the turn of November to December.
Our restaurants are located right in the center of Helsinki, so it’s easy to stop by for a Christmas lunch during a workday break, with partners, friends or the whole team. As usual, we celebrate the flavors of Christmas with heartfelt service and first-class ingredients.

All Olo Collection restaurants are located in central Helsinki – our passion is to make life taste better.
Our truffles come from Maison Pébeyre in Southwest France, a family estate founded in 1897. Each truffle is hand-picked and carefully inspected. Known as the “black diamonds” of Périgord, their deep umami flavour and perfect texture bring structure and richness to every dish, enhancing flavours with their powerful aroma.

Our beautiful summer restaurant Särkänlinna is open from early May until the end of September. In the first and last weeks of the season, it operates as a private-booking venue, and its à la carte opens in mid-May.
Our joyful crayfish season kicks off every year on July 21 and continues right through to the end of September. The city’s most legendary crayfish parties have been held at Särkänlinna for over 100 years. We’ll publish the Särkänlinna crayfish menu in June – but you can book your own party right now!

A Unique Chef’s Dinner
Twice a year, all our head chefs gather in one kitchen to create a dinner you can’t experience anywhere else. Each Chef’s Dinner is built around a special theme and hosted in one of our central Helsinki restaurants. Menus and prices are announced about two months before each event. A ticket to a Chef’s Dinner also makes a wonderful gift for any food lover!
